Now the golf has also evolved to Pitch and Putt. It may be mentioned that the first-ever Pitch & Putt golf tournament was recently held at Panchkula. The tournament named as the Panchkula Golf Club Par3 Masters was a huge success amongst the 178 enthusiastic golfers.
The debut of this innovative format brought a new chapter to Indian Golf, aiming to broaden the sport's accessibility across the nation and enhance India's presence on the global Golf stage, according to Munish Arora, Founder of Can and Able Entertainment and force behind the new format.
Only three clubs were allowed (one Putter and two clubs of your choice). Longest hole was 105 yards and shortest 50 yards. Total Time taken was 90 minutes for the game and 90 minutes for dead walk.
The tournament kicked off amidst a cold and misty morning. Despite the chilly 8-degree weather, participants eagerly embraced the unique challenge of using only three clubs, including a putter, on Par 3 holes.
The event, realigned to accommodate the dynamic format, received a positive response from all participants.
Munish Arora expressed his excitement about introducing the Par3 - Pitch and Putt format, emphasizing the vision to expand the sport's reach nationwide.
Representatives from GameChangerZ highlighted the potential of Pitch and Putt in diversifying golf's appeal and establishing a sustainable sports property. The tournament, overseen by professional golfer-turned-trainer, Tavleen Batra, ensured fair play and smooth execution.
Players faced unique challenges on the course, testing their skills and precision with holes ranging from 55 to 105 yards.
The evening concluded with a grand prize-giving ceremony, recognizing winners like Rajat Seth, GC Sharma, Kamlesh Khanna, and Shalini Sheron, followed by awards for Closest to the Pin.
Munish Arora informed that the Panchkula Golf Club Par3 Masters set the stage for the future of Pitch & Putt in India, with plans for more tournaments nationwide. This thrilling format promises to revolutionize golf, making it more accessible, exciting, and popular than ever before, he added.
