North Indian Team ‘Golfism’ Lifts Trinity Golf Champions League

NEW DELHI, Sept 28: The team "Golfism”, representing North India, lifted the coveted Trinity Golf Champions League held recently at the Delhi Golf Club. Golfism accumulated 74 points in the four rounds spread over three days. Dakshin Rangers, representing the South, were the runners up with a total tally of 61.5 points.

The League promoters -- Ateet Gaur, Manav Jaini and Ishan de Souza -- present the Trophy to Golfism Captain Karan Mohan Chaudhary and the team and a cheque of Rs 15 lakhs.

A cheque of Rs 5 lakhs was given to runners up Captain of Dakshin Rangers Arjun Lal.

The Captain of Mumbai Warriors was Amit Nigam and Captain of Assam Rhinos was Ranjit Singh.

Vijay Reddy is the owner of Golfism and Dakshin Rangers Owners are Praveen Singhvi, Rajendra Prasad and Saif Mekhri. The Mumbai Warriors Owners are Hemang Dharimshi and Jasmeir Puri and Assam Tea Rhinos Owner is Mohit Agarwal.

It may be mentioned that the Trinity Golf Champions League featured four regional teams, each comprising 20 amateur golfers, one celebrity golfer, and two male and two female professional golfers.

Mumbai Warriors, representing the West, with a good showing in the singles round had to settle with third position with 52 points and Assam Rhinos, representing the East, rounded up the leader board with 46.5 points.

The Trinity Golf Champions League begun on September 19 at the Delhi Golf Club. Two rounds were played on Day 1. The Four ball round in the morning session had Golfism Vs Dakshin Rangers where Dakshin rangers won 11 points to 9 and the other game had Mumbai Warriors up against Assam Rhinos where the Assam Rhinos won 11 points to 9 as well.

The Round Two in the afternoon was played between Mumbai Warriors Vs Dakshin Rangers where the Dakshin Rangers won against the Mumbai team 11 points to 9 and in the other game of Golfism Vs Assam Rhinos, Golfism won 13 points to 7.

Round Three that was played on September 20 saw Golfism leading Mumbai warriors by 14 point to 6 and the Dakshin Rangers leading the Assam Rhinos 11 points to 9.

The singles matches were played on September 21 where Golfism showed good standing and lifted the title.

Trinity Golf Champions League, a groundbreaking event, brought together the best of golfing talent from different corners of India.

Ateet Gaur, a renowned name in the golfing industry for several decades, called the Trinity Golf Champions League as an "IPL" of the golf. Kapil Dev, who announced the launch of the League on September 18, said "its a red letter day with the launch of this historic and path breaking Trinity League."

Ateet said "there are lots of Leagues in different golf courses in India, but these have no connectivity and inclusivity."

The event is the brainchild of Ateet Gaur who has been supported by the board of the league, comprising of Sukrit Singh, Founder XP&D Platform; Manav Jaini, Professional Golfer & Business Consultant; and Ishan de Souza who runs the official management agency of the event- Brandon de Souza Management Services.

The organizers have also emphasized the importance of promoting gender equality in golf, with equal representation of male and female professional golfers. This commitment to inclusivity aligns with the league's vision of making golf accessible and enjoyable for all.

"We believe in promoting golf as a sport for everyone, regardless of age, gender, or skill level," said Ateet Gaur, the league's incubator.

The team "Mumbai Warriors" had Ajit Agarkar as the celebrity golfer and Gaurav Ghei, Mukesh Kumar, Amandeep Drall and Astha Madan as professional golfers.

The team "Assam Rhinos" had Lakshman Singh as celebrity golfer and Amandeep Johl, Ashok Kumar, Simi Mehra and Yaalisai Verma as professional golgers.

The team "Golfism had Papa CJ as celebrity golfer and Sachin Baisoya, Yash Majumdar, Gaurika Bishnoi and Ridhima Dilawari as professional golfers.

The team "Dakshin Rangers" had Murali Kartik as celebrity golfer and M Dharma, Aryan Roopa Anand, Vani Kapoor and Avani Prashanth (Amateur playing in the professional category).

The sponsors of the League included Singleton X Nico Bar, Ecolastic - Associate Partner; Taylormade - Associate Partner; BMW - Luxury Automobile Partner, Coal - Skin Care Partner; Addidas - Apparel Partner; and Beverage Partner were Coca Cola.

J&K Tourism, PGTI To Hold J&K Open at Jammu from October 4

NEW DELHI, Sept 18: The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) along with J&K Tourism has announced another edition of the four-day J&K Open which will be held at the pristine Jammu Tawi Golf Course in Jammu, from October 4. The total prize purse for the event has been enhanced to Rs. 50 lakh this year. The Pro-Am event will be held on October 8.

The top Indian professionals participating in the event include Udayan Mane, Rashid Khan, defending champion Yuvraj Singh Sandhu and former champion Honey Baisoya, to name a few. The foreign challenge will be led by Bangladeshis Jamal Hossain and Badal Hossain as well as Sri Lankans N Thangaraja and Mithun Perera, to name a few.

Special Secretary to Government (J&K Tourism Department) Amarjeet Singh said, “We look forward to our continued association with the J&K Open golf tournament and the PGTI. This tournament gives us a great platform to project the UT of Jammu & Kashmir as a favourable destination for Golf Tourism for business and leisure travellers from all across the world. Jammu Tawi Golf Course, is an 18-hole course, designed by internationally renowned designer Col. K.D Bagga. The course was commissioned on 24th April 2011. This picturesque Golf Course is located along the National Highway 1A connecting Jammu to Srinagar, in a valley along the river Tawi. The course has fairways approximately 6600 meters in length, it has two big and three small water bodies and a water channel about 3200 meters long.

The Government of Jammu & Kashmir undertook the construction of this prestigious project of Jammu Tawi Golf Course with the intention of giving a boost to Golf Tourism and grooming young boys and girls to become golf professionals.

The tournament is supported by J&K Tourism as well as Host Venue Jammu Tawi Golf Course.

NEW DELHI, Sept 18: Cricket legend Kapil Dev on Monday announced the launch the Trinity Golf Champions League, a groundbreaking event that will bring together the best of golfing talent from different corners of India. The league is set to tee off on Tuesday (September 19), at the Delhi Golf Club.

Kapil Dev and Ateet Gaur, a renowned name in the golfing industry for several decades, called the Trinity Golf Champions League as an "IPL" of the golf. Kapil Dev, who is known to think big and of doing always something unique, said "its a red letter day with the launch of this historic and pathbreaking Trinity League."

Ateet said "there are lots of Leagues in different golf courses in India, but these have no connectivity and inclusivity."

The event is the brainchild of Ateet Gaur who has been supported by the board of the league, comprising of Sukrit Singh, Founder XP&D Platform; Manav Jaini, Professional Golfer & Business Consultant; and Ishan de Souza who runs the official management agency of the event- Brandon de Souza Management Services.

Brandon de Souza is the designated Tournament Director who is also the Chairman and Managing Director of Brandon de Souza Management services and has been a 17-time India international champion in the sport of Golf.

The Trinity Golf Champions League will be a thrilling blend of professional expertise and the enthusiasm of amateur golfers. The league aims to promote golf as a sport accessible to all and foster camaraderie among players from diverse backgrounds.

The event is a cash laden league where the winning team will take a cheque of Rs 15 lakh and the runner up team of Rs 5 lakh. This prize money is going to increase year on year.

"Golf is a sport that requires skill, patience, and discipline, and this league will provide a unique platform for both amateurs and professionals to showcase their talent and passion for the game."

The tournament will span three days and will consist of four rounds played in a format of Better ball (played twice), Alternate shots and Singles, The players will compete within their handicap buckets and no strokes will be given to any players. In the Better ball and Alternate shots a team will receive 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 for a loss. In the Singles Matchplay, a player will receive 1 point for a win, 0.5 point for a draw and 0 for a loss. The interesting part is in the Singles Matchplay 1 player will play against 3 opponents being represented from the other 3 regions.

The Trinity Golf Champions League is not only a celebration of golf but also a testament to the unity and diversity that defines India. It is expected to attract a wide viewership, as we would be having the matches showcased on You tube live with a 30-minute highlights show on Euro sport.

Siraj's 6-Wicket Mayhem Crushes Sri Lanka, India Bring Home 8th Asia Cup

COLOMBO, Sept 17: Mohammed Siraj bowled a terrific six-wicket spell helping India eventually outplay Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in the final of Asia Cup 2023 at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday. India registered a record-extending 8th Asia Cup title.

With the help of Siraj's 6 for 21 in 7 overs, the Rohit Sharma-led side bundled out Sri Lanka for 50 runs after skipper Dasun Shanaka won the toss and opted to bat. Siraj picked his first five wickets in 16 balls which is also the joint fastest in ODI cricket history.

Jasprit Bumrah landed the first blow before Siraj took over and didn't let the opponents settle down. In the paltry chase, Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan comfortably took India home in 6.1 overs.
